Transient Housing

Paris, France

This program called for the design of a housing complex for people staying a short period of time in Paris, France. Included in the program was a hotel (8-12 rooms), studio apartments, and single family apartments. Conceptually this project took an approach that explored ways to apply the single-family home’s central living space to a shared central living space within a community. Tenants of this complex share public facilities in functional ways. Moreover, these connections are enhanced through spatial progression and the evolution of form. Community ties are enhanced through visual links, path crossing, and a central courtyard.
