This project began conceptually with the idea of a hand-crafted form which disseminates, and eventually dissipates through the elongated extremities of the piece. Constructed from a single twenty-seven board-foot plank of Black Washington Walnut, the table uses digital and traditional means to achieve subtle elegance. The underbelly of the top establishes a language of hand-worked edges and slender proportions, which stretch down the slightly arched legs, and transitions into crisp square terminations. The posture of the table is slightly forward, giving it a straighter back against the wall, and a more engaged front towards the room.
