I grew up in the California Bay Area, and spent my high school and early college years near Chicago. In 2006, I spent the year studying Architecture in Versailles, France, and explored Europe as much as I could. This year profoundly shaped my perspective of design and the world, and continues to influence my process and passion in the field. After receiving my B.S.Arch from the University of Illinois in Champaign Urbana, I took a year off from school in 2008 and worked as an intern architect. I've spent the last few years studying/ working at the University of Washington in Seattle, and received my M.Arch in January of 2012. Since then, I worked in the UW Built Environments Shop for a bit longer, made the decision to move back to Chicago, and taught myself HTML, CSS, and some basic JQuery (welcome to my website). I've been doing some small freelance design projects to pay the bills, but am currently looking for work as an architect.
I love Architecture. In short, it is the perfect blend of math, science, art, people, culture, and business. I love its challenges, its diversity, its past, and its future. I love to make things, to solve problems, to meet people, and understand places. Architecture fits me like a good pair of boots, and I'm excited to see where it takes me next.
